I really wish I had seen this web site before I contracted with World Wide Van Lines. They are nothing but a broker. They subcontract your move to another company. This is not clear until they show up. You're not told that you will have to sign another contract with the actual mover. The driver was not even aware that my move had been assigned to him. They were three days late. They showed up with a U-Haul and trailer. The didn't weigh the empty truck just prior to arrival as promised (it was actually a week earlier). The "before" weight could have been with an empty fuel tank. I know they fueled up just prior to arriving for my pickup. The crew was exhausted due to lack of sleep. One of the crew (the driver's sister) was totally clueless as to how to properly disassemble bed frames, lamp shades, etc. My furniture and belongings were packed inside the U-Haul truck and trailer literally from floor to ceiling. There wasn't even room for the dolly. They strapped it on the back of the U-Haul with shrink wrap. My property sustained extensive damage. Patio furniture was stacked on top of my solid oak rocking chair. My piano bench was wrapped with my front door rug and tape. My house was also damaged. The walls were scraped, scratched, and there were two holes in the drywall. The new threshold was dented in multiple locations. The freshly painted door jam was scraped and scratched as my belongings were banged against it on the way out the door. I paid for piano prep. There was absolutely no prep done. My piano was hauled out the door like everything else. I could go on and on. My claim is extensive. The emotiional trauma is severe. I can't enjoy my new home when I see all my damaged furniture. I won't be happy until all damaged property is replaced, probably at my expense. PLEASE, PLEASE, HIRE ANOTHER MOVER!!!!
