This company might be fine for local moves, but I had a terrible experience with my long distance move. They were prompt and courteous when picking up my stuff- as soon as they had it, the trouble began.
I did not hear from Glenn, the long –distance move manager, so days later I called. He would sometimes call me back, but for several days he was unavailable, according to the receptionist, a family emergency. No one was able to give me a time frame for the delivery, in fact no one seemed to have any idea where the stuff was. I was living in the new house without anything, ultimately for two weeks. When Glenn did call he promised a delivery date that turned out to be a total fabrication. The truck driver called me finally and told me when he would actually be here.
When he arrived, he was alone. ONE MAN to unload large pieces of furniture and many boxes. He was pleasant, but this took a long time. The boxes had been stacked with no regard to fragile markings- each was bashed in on the top. Luckily I had used oceans of bubble wrap, but the glass in my light table was shattered. My flat screen TV was damaged. Other boxes were wet, and the driver claimed it was from something inside- but there were no liquids in those boxes. He had a leak in the truck.
Worst of all, four boxes disappeared. One was recovered and had been delivered to the wrong person. Luckily this was a library archive and they were honest in admitting that they had received it. I can't replace personal photos that were lost or water-damaged. I'm not even sure yet exactly what else was lost.
I believe that the problem is mostly the fault of the long-distance mover that they contract with. If you have a relatively small load to move, you will have to share a truck with other households- this is standard. But the driver did not know anything about the origins of the items, was extremely careless, and was a small man trying to do everything. It was just impossible. I've moved many times and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had.
