High Touch Moving were scheduled to arrive at my apartment at 2pm but didn't show up until 7pm!! On the original order form, they quoted me a price of $95/hour for 3 men and 3 hours. When they arrived, they told me that they have 4 men and that they are going to charge me $120/hour. I told them that is not acceptable as I took their service because of the good price. After discussing with the manager, they took 1 men off and said they will charge me at the original rate... The whole move including driving took 3.5 hours. With that rate, I should have been charged a total of $380 (including travel time).
When they were done with the moving at 10pm, the main guy did some recalculation and told me that I owed them $600!!! He added 1 hour of travel time, plus $120 "material cost". On my original quote, they put in 30 min for travel time, and no material charge. I asked him what the "materials" were as we had packed our own boxes... he wouldn't say, he just said it added all up to $120 for the material like tape, boxes and blanquet. At the end, I ended up paying around $550 (they adjusted the travel time to 30 min). When they started the move, they put our little boxes in one big box and NEVER told us that we would get charged for them.
We decided to reassemble our furniture ourselves, else it would have costed us even more.
After they left, I took a look at the contract and saw that tape and blanquet were supposed to be provided for free. I think I just got ripped off here.
I would NOT recommend this company at all.
