After a disastrous move, I complained to the owner, Massimo (Max) Ferrari. His response is below. Needless to say, I've never seen a dime, and Max has fallen off the planet!
Dear Kurt,
I received your letter of complaint and we're sorry for all the delays that occurred during your move
In our defense I would like to remind you that on 12-19-2008 the driver scheduled to pick your shipment
was robbed and shot in Knoxville TN. Unfortunately we couldn't prevent this tragedy.
Therefore re-arranging the whole company schedule was not an easy task.
Regarding your weight, we can't charge you based on another moving company estimate therefore we don't
need their papers in our possession.
However,
The driver should notify the customer prior loading the truck of any additional charges, so at this time we
understand your frustration.
We are willing to reimburse you $400 for all the delays and the frustration you had to go through wishing
you a very happy new year.
Please reply to this note as soon as possible accepting this settlement.
