This was our first time using a company to move so we were a bit green. When the movers picked up our items I signed the inventory list and asked for a copy. The driver told me that I got all copies of the paperwork when my items were delivered. I now realize it was a mistake to let him leave but we were tired because the movers were over 2 hours late arriving. I now know they were required to give us not only a copy of the inventory list but also a copy of the Bill of Lading.
When our items arrived the driver was alone. He intended to unload all of our furniture by himself even though we had several large heavy items. As a result I had to help. There was also significant damage to our items in addition to missing items. When I asked to update the inventory list the driver told me that my damage was so extensive I just needed to call the office and complain. Luckily I took pictures of the items in their damaged condition on the truck.
The company now contends that many of the items were damaged when they were picked up and that I damaged the other items when I unloaded them. They have still refused to turn over a copy of the inventory list to us so we can fully assess whether other items are missing or if the original inventory list was altered.
This company talks a good game when they are selling you their services but once they have your possessions their attitude completely changes. My advice is to stay as far away from this company as possible.
