NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use this Company.
Besides what happened below. The person doing the quote is either clueless or not allowed to make a fair quote. We were told that our stuff would be 5,000 lbs and it turned out to be 11,000 lbs. (I know we had lots of stuff, but...)
Also, we have yet to hear back about the items that were damaged by the movers even after sending registered letter with the proper forms.
On April 23, 2013 we contracted with Xpress Movers, 5 Waltham Street, Suite #3, Wilmington, MA 01887 to move our household items from NC to MA. We contracted for “Expedited delivery and Designated Truck”. We did not receive an expedited delivery nor did we receive a designated truck.
Part of this contract was for an “Expedited delivery Designated Truck” for which we were told it would cost $800.00 extra. We agreed. However, when the truck arrived on Friday, May 3rd the truck was not empty; instead it contained items from two other people. We were told by the driver that the items on the truck belong to a previous client whose items were forgotten and were now being delivered with our items. The other item on the truck was the company’s manger’s (Annie Andreeva) oven that they had picked up in New Jersey.
At the end of the day the movers came and told me that all of our items would not fit on the truck as it was full. They said that if the truck had been empty all of our items would have fit.
They called the manager and told her that the truck was full but her only offer was to send another truck sometime in the future when they could. This was not an option as we had to arrive at the contracted date and would not be able to wait for Xpress Movers to be back in the area.
Upon arrival in Winchester MA, Sunday May 5th, I spoke with Annie Andreeva the manager. She stated that it was our fault that the truck was too small and that we did receive a dedicated truck. When I refuted this issue stating that her oven and a different customer’s possessions were on the truck she stated that that was not an issue and not her fault. When I requested to speak with the owner she refused saying that the owner was not available. When I requested the owner’s contact information she refused saying that the owner would not be available until the following week. I requested to not pay the $800.00 fee in dispute until I had discussed it with the owner and was told that I had to pay the full amount or I would not receive my belongings. Again I requested to speak with the owner, or have the owner call me or have the owner’s e-mail address to discuss this matter. Andreeva refused saying that she would cancel delivery until such time as I paid the full amount. I instructed Andreeva to deliver the items that Express Movers had in their possession at the scheduled time and yet again requested to not pay the $800.00 Expedited/Designated truck fee as I did not receive an Expedited/Designated truck since there were items from herself and another person on the truck and I would now have to pay for another manner for the items left in NC to be picked up and moved. She refused and threatened again to hold my belongings until I agreed to pay in full.
I feel I was blackmailed into paying the full amount including the extra Expedited/Designated Truck Fee.
As a result of this failure to provide the contracted service, we incurred more moving expenses.
Further, the items Xpress Movers directly contracted to move were also not moved.
