I moved at the end of June from Boston to Hoboken, NJ. I had set up in advance all the specifics for the move, especially that I had to move in to my new apartment by 4pm that afternoon or I would be charged a $500 move-in fee (for being late). Everything was agreed on in advance, as well as the price ($900). I even have a contract showing this price.
Well, the movers did not show up to my new apartment until 6-6:30pm. They claimed it was because of traffic, but my friend and I had also driven there at the same time and we arrived before 2pm. Then I found out (the driver admitted it himself) that they had actually stopped somewhere else and did another job as they were driving to my apartment! Because of this, they were late and cost me the $500 move-in fee.
Furthermore, the final price of the bill was $1000, $100 more than we had agreed on. I called the two man guys who I had been in contact with and they assured me they would work something out later, both with the price and with some kind of credit for the $500 fee, which was their fault. They even admitted that the drivers should not have stopped for another move because we had set up a special agreement for my interstate move beforehand.
That was at the end of June. It is now mid-November and they have not returned any of my calls. I have called them constantly over the last few months and no one answers the three different numbers I'm calling. I leave messages and yet hear nothing in return.
Because of them I am out $600. They stopped in the middle of my move to do another job. They do not return any phone calls. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they did not respond to that either.
This company is absolutely terrible and there is no excuse for this kind of service. I would *never* use them again and I would vehemently discourage anyone else from using them as well.
