First I will start by stating that I chose to use this company based on the person who initially contacted me. He sounded genuine and honest. The price seemed fair also and was based on weight of the cargo. I was told my belongings would be unloaded and reassembled. The weight of my shipment was estimated at 2,040 lbs. I was informed that if I exceeded the weight I would be charged at 0.45 cents per additional pound of weight. Fair enough. I strongly believed I was well under the estimated weight of my cargo. I was also told that my things would be kept separate from other peoples belongings, that they used a color coding system to keep items separate so their would be no loss of items. The company gave me the number of someone they told me was my driver. His name is Bobby. Bobby contacted me a day before my things were scheduled to be picked up, he told me that the weigh stations charge $50 dollars to have an official witness the weighing of the truck. This was the first I was hearing of this additional charge. There was no mention of this before they took my deposit. Either way, the guy on the other end of the line, "Bobby" said he felt like being nice so he would just pay it out of his own pocket. He contacted me the following day to let me know "his driver" was there picking up my things. I thought he was the driver. I contacted my storage facility and they told me there was only 1 person there. I called "bobby" back and asked why there was 1 person moving my things (which are large items), and he told me his driver was waiting on his helper, that they have "helpers" in every city. I knew something didnt seem right from that moment. Later that night while I was at work in a very busy ER Bobby contacted me to let me know I was 1100lbs over my estimated weight. When I asked him to fax me the weigh scale ticket the next day I received a hand written document that increased my total by $500 dollars. I demanded Bobby fax me the actual weigh scale stamped documentation. He blamed his "driver" for sending the wrong document. When I did actually receive the weigh ticket for before and after, they were A. 14 minutes apart in timing. B. Not even close to weight he proposed I exceeded. I then called the weigh station and asked them about the weigh station tickets and how they could be interpreted. I also asked if they charge truckers $50 dollars for observing the weighing of a truck. The woman I spoke with informed me that they charge 9.50 for a weigh and $1 for a re- weigh at the same location. So when I asked him about it he then told me they have to unload the trucks at the weigh stations and re-weigh them. REALLY!? Now I knew something was very wrong, so I asked him how its possible to unload a truck and reweigh in 14 minutes and his response "its impossible" he then told me he would call me back, when he did he bashed his "driver' for sending the wrong fax and then proceeded to tell me his "driver" "lost the ticket and Im just gonna have to pay out of my own pocket". I also told Bobby that if every trucker had to unload their cargo at each weigh station no trucker would get anywhere. My father is a truck driver. Im well aware of how our roadways work, but thanks nice try. Now what Im expecting is an 18 wheeler to be delivering my belongings. Um no, on sunday the 15th of may at 5:30pm a penske truck showed up to my house with a single man very small in stature and non-english speaking. Your following me right? So, I then called this Bobby the wannabe scam artist and asked him where the rest of the crew was. He began screaming profanities at me over the phone to the point I could not even understand a word aside from the profanities. He then hung up on me. I had to ask neighbors whom I barely know to help me move my stuff. The driver explained to me that these helpers of this company are actually day laborers and they find random people from all different cities they are in. "How professional?" I asked myself. So I was forced to watch another families belongings be spilled into the parking lot while digging for my own belongings between the other peoples. There was no color coding system, no separation of items. I wondered how this other family would feel knowing their furniture and belongings were in the parking lot of a condominum complex somewhere in the world and not being handled professionaly. The driver then told me he didnt fax anything, and that he didnt go through a weight station. I spent 7 hours unloading a truck with this driver, I found out he makes $100 daily and he sleeps for few hours at a time at truck stops in the truck. Also, that he is told by his company to "find people" to help with the move. He barely speaks ENGLISH! Moreover, my brand new sofa (2months new) had a hole in it caused from the move, multiple glass item that were boxed and marked fragile were broken! A piece of glass for a shelving unit shattered! When I contacted the company the following day I was told they would send me a claim form for the damaged items. My question is why did I pay someone to have to move my own things!???? My body is aching from head to toe from moving, I cant imaging how the poor little driver feels or if he is aware that the contract I recieved states that he is responsible for any damage, not Worldwide van lines. A.K.A Worldwide Transfer. Seriously PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
