Hired to move me from CA to OK in February - possessions picked up 2/24/2012 by 3rd party movers (SafeWorld Moving & Storage). Contract was originally for $1,228.99 - $228.99 paid to World Wide Vans rest to be paid COD. Driver from Safeworld, Leo, contacting me to tell me that I was over the limit on weight and that an additional $1048 would have to be paid to Matt (owner) at Safeworld prior to delivery. Contacted World Wide Vans - Steve no longer would take my calls but spoke to customer service department - she informed me that this additional cost would need to be paid. Sent a cashiers check 3/1/2012. Contacted Matt everyday after 3/1/2012 trying to find out where my stuff was and when to expect delivery. During the course of two months, Matt sparingly returned calls; changed phone numbers twice; meanwhile World Wide Vans stopped taking my calls. On June 26, 2012 World Wide Vans accepted a claim form - which I was to be paid $.60 per pound - I have yet to receive any monies nor will they return my calls.
Contacted Attorney General in California - they said that they couldn't help me, contacted FMCSA - they provided me with information about the bogus insurance information that Safeworld uses, plus the DOT numbers for both World Wide and Safeworld.
