I can't give Virginia Beach Movers a 1 star like I really want to simply due to the excellent 3 guys who actually made my move. Great job on their part!!
Outside of that, this was THE WORST company I have ever done business with!! First I was quoted 1 thing and charged another. I see one person above say that they moved a 4 bedroom over 2 days for $1350, well I moved a 2 bedroom over 4hrs locally and paid a whopping $800!! I was quoted $95 an hour with a 3 hr minimum totaling $285, not including any extra packing materials. Since I work for a packaging company I was able to get some disgarded material from work to do most or all of my wrapping and packing myself leaving a few items for the packers. They wrapped my glass table in bubble wrap and secured my 55' TV in what appeared to be a few broken down boxes. The contract is pretty blank until they get to the destination (basically only showing the 3hrs@ $95). The movers arrive at my new home and I was required to pay before they unloaded my furniture, which wasn't an issue because I had enough cash for at least 4hrs and $100 for material. The mover whips out the contract and begins to fill in additional boxes for pricing. First he adds an additional $95 for travel time (I literally moved 15mins away from the last residents), then tacks on $32 for fuel, those broken down boxes on my TV - $76 bucks!!! That bubble wrap on my table - $85.50!! A bioscreen (which I argued was the same as the broken down boxes on my TV??) - $75 bucks!!!! And apparently the tape that they used to keep the furniture covers in place cost me $27 bucks for 6 rolls!! Did I mention I moved a 2 bedroom... So of course I called to complain about the few additional charges never spoke of in my quote and the price gouging of the materials. When I FINALLY got Andre on the phone, he over talked me the whole conversation, told me to pay or they wouldn't unload my things and then hung up on me!! Yes.... Hung up, call didn't drop.....he hung up. I tried to call back and he never answered again!! So like the sucker they turned me into that day, I paid and they unloaded my things. I fully intend to visit the court house on this matter. If you decide to use this company make sure you stand over the movers asking how much is that tape going to cost every time they whip it out and tape boxes around your own TV!! Save yourself $300!! Definitely get a WRITTEN quote!
