Victory Van Lines (Great Nation Van Lines), Rockville Maryland, moved my studio size student furniture from Richmond, Va. To Houston, Tx. in July 2013. They charged me $2689 which was over 44% of original estimate amount. The estimate was a Binding estimate which, based on the law, they can not charge you any more (refer to US Department of Transportation web site). Only if the shipper gives you a new estimate at the time of pick up, when there are more items/weight than originally estimated, original price can be changed. But this shipper did not give us a new estimate at the time of pick up. Only a few days before delivery, they said we have to pay $823 more or they would not deliver the furniture. They claimed shipment weighed more but their original estimate of weight was way over the actual weight of the items AND the after pick up weighing date was two days after the pick up (supposed to be same day after pick up)!! So, it really does not mean anything. Their service was terrible; they did not answer any of my calls for ten days after the pick up. Stay away from this company; don't do any advanced payment until the time of pick up.
