First let me start by saying this Verizon Van Lines did EXACTLY what they stated the "other disreputable" companies do! They took our inventory over the phone, we walked room by room and described every item, box, wardrobe and piece of furniture that we had to move. They quoted us $3150 all inclusive for the move. A week or so before the move was scheduled we were asked to move our pick up date earlier by a day, so we did so to accomodate the company. We then recieved an email stating we would be hearing from someone at another company to confirm the pick up. We had NO idea Verizon was not the company moving us. We hired them......OK so they broker out their business. So they were paid our deposit of $600 for doing an inventory over the phone.
Prior to moving we decided NOT to move a dining set with four chairs, 4 bar stools, a pool lounge chair and a few other small items. The day of the move, the moving company Verizon hired informed us that all our belongings would not fit ont the truck, so they left 12 items at our previous residence. Verizon explained that we had DOUBLE the items we told them we did and that basically it was our fault. The company that moved us counted a dining room set with four chairs, not as 5 pieces, but 5 plus 1 if the table broke down into that many pieces. So the bedroom set was not 8 pieces, it was 13 pieces as that is how it "broke down". These people are not honest.......our move would up costing us $4060 PLUS we had to have a family memeber rent a truck to move the remaining items at a cost of $209.00 plus $180 in gas........UNREAL. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...........you will get ripped off!!!!!!!!!!
