I friend of mine had used Unity once in the past gave me their number so I could get a quote. I spoke to Michelle who went through everything I had and called me back with a price. It seemed a little low in comparison to the other two quote that I got but she seemed nice and knowledgeable so I decided to go with them. HUGE MISTAKE! They were supposed to pick up 2pm and when I called at 3 I was told they were around the corner. Another hour later I called back and Michelle is "gone for the day" at 4pm. The guy on the phone who said he's her husband and owner said they would be right their within 15 minutes and that the truck had broken down. OK so now another 45 minutes goes by and no call or truck. I called back and now no one picks up the phone. No truck shows up. I leave a message and nothing all night.
7am the next day I'm awoken by the doorman says the movers are here. Problem is these idiots never called me and they can't move in the building till 8am. Building rules. I get a call from Michelle literally screaming at me how I'm costing her money and stopping her moving guys from working. I hung up and I get a call back from her loon husband telling me I have to pay extra because my building is wasting his crews time and they have other moves to make. At that point I told them I'm not using you at all and you can send your truck away. He starts screaming like you can't believe at me. These people are completely nuts.
I called another reputable Moving company who said they had an opening the next day. They showed up right on time and no issues at all. I should have known when the price seemed a little too good and ran from Unity. This is what seems to be a 2 person husband and wife scraping by using bait and switch tactics. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more with someone reputable.
