I am writing this in the hopes of saving someone the trouble and stress I went through with our move due to this company's practices.
1. Unreliable and misleading bids: We received a very reasonable bid on our 2 bedroom apartment, only to have our total price increase by $900.00. This was after the employee, Jason, assured us the price would not change. I understand that movers charge by the cubic square foot, but this company was dishonest and misleading and pulled a "bait and switch," by giving me a price in my professed range, only to tell us the price would change the day the movers were there. I was not asked for an inventory list until the day before the movers were supposed to come. We had a small 2 bedroom apt. with a moderate amount of belongings, just as I told the rep, Jason.
2. Unreliable timelines: We were told the movers would come on Saturday between 10 and 2. They were not there by 4pm, so I called the dispatcher who said they were not going to come after all and would be there tomorrow, between 10 and 2. They showed up on Sunday at 4:30pm.
3. Extremely unprofessional employees and no complaint department: After we moved and our things were still in Seattle, I wrote Jason, our rep, and Andrew to let them know how upset I was with the way things went. When I finally got a hold of someone, after 3 weeks, they told me that they could dump my things back at the location where we had them picked up. Then they gave me another option (just as professional); they said they could load the truck with just some of our things if I didn't like the new price, and they could leave the rest in Seattle. They were so rude and inappropriate.
4. Poor communication after contract is signed: Before I signed, Jason was very attentive. After I signed, I could not get him to answer multiple emails and phone calls. I tried for 3 weeks and finally wrote the Reservation Dept.
5. Delivery occurs whenever they feel like it: I did not mind that they took almost a month to deliver our possessions because we needed the time, but if you want to know when your things are coming or at least have someone in communication with you, this is the wrong company for you. On that note, if you do opt for the month of free storage, that could mean less than a month because they stored our things at the place of origin until the truck was full and then delivered it at 26 days.
All in all, find a company with a complaints department. Also, read reviews on the different companies.
