This was a surprisingly good move. I was a little worried at first because there are so many mixed reviews, but United Transportation did a great job. First of all, the guys did an amazing job wrapping my stuff. Hector and Peter were super fast, I thought it would take all day but it only took around 3 hours and I have a LOT of stuff. They also repacked a lot of my boxes for me for free since they had been sitting in my storage unit for god knows how long. It is employees like those two that really made my move fantastic, but Stephanie, the girl who helped coordinate everything, was also amazing!
She was so incredibly sweet to me from the beginning, and she also was able to get me freebies here and there. I wasn't in a position to pay with anything other than my card on delivery, and even though I was told I wouldn't be able to use it, she arranged it so that I could pay and also waived the fee that came along with it. I mean these guys really work hard around the clock, I have gotten e-mails from Stephanie as late as 8pm, but they open at 8am... 12 hour shifts, or just extra personalized customer service? I don't know, but whatever it is, I absolutely love it.
I was also able to call them on the weekend, so I don't know if they are open 7 days a week, but it's really nice to be able to reach someone about your move just because it's not during normal business hours. I work Monday-Friday, pretty much the same hours as other companies and I can't tell you how annoying it is to not be able to get things done without taking time off work because you work the same hours as they do. I mean the service is beyond amazing, Stephanie was out one day after blowing out her eardrum and she was back the very next day. I would have stayed home, but it was so comforting to know someone's personal life doesn't interfere with their work, that really says something about the company's policies and standards as a business.
Overall these guys were just above and beyond. I had some different guys dropping off my things, but they were also sweet guys, they mounted my TV for me for me and made sure they cleaned up their mess so that I didn't have to. Overall I have to say that it was definitely worth it to hire a mover, and if you're going to use a company, I would definitely recommend United. I can't imagine trying to do what they did by myself, not even with the help of my son, and DEFINITELY not in the amount of time they were able to get it all done.
