On 7/31/2012 I was given an estimate from Alicia with United Transport Inc., after being contacted by her on several occasions following an online inquiry for moving services from Cashion, OK to Washington, PA. According to the estimate paperwork emailed to me that day, United Transport had a timeframe of 14 days for delivery to the east coast. I was required to pay a 25% non-refundable deposit in order to schedule my move, which I did in the amount of $556.40. Our movers were scheduled to pick up our belongings on August 11th and, according to Alicia and my estimate, the full service relocation included complete disassembling and reassembling of furniture. The movers arrived 2 hours late with not a single tool for the disassembling of our furniture. So, my husband took apart everything himself. Several items in our estimate were not taken for reasons giving by the driver, yet were never deducted from our cost. Those item included our small bedroom tv, riding lawn mower, weed eater, tv stand (which was also not disassembled due to lack of movers' tools) and a large mirror. Additionally, I had estimated we would be utilizing 15 plastic bins but only ended up with 10. Again, our cost was never adjusted. I was asked, at that point, to pay 60% of the estimate, with the remaining balance due upon delivery. And, at that point, I was asked to sign paperwork that stated (on the back) that they had 21 business days to deliver, even though the original estimate I had agreed to, stated, up to 14 days. By then, I had already invested over $500 that was non-refundable. Before the movers left, the man in charge (I don't recall his name) saw a 3-wheeler recreational vehicle we had planned to sell and offered to buy it. We agreed to $75 and he loaded it on the truck for himself. Questionably, he claimed not to have any cash but offered to take the $75 off the remaining balance of our move. (I later spoke with the manager at United Transport, Leah, who said that she had never heard of something like that and called it "bizarre" that he would do such a thing, assuring me that she would speak with him about it.) I never heard back from them on the matter and eventually, after several calls to them, I was told there was nothing that could be done because the 3-wheeler was never documented having been picked up. So, our first available delivery date was set for August 18th which is when we planned to arrive in PA. On August 13th, I was called by another employee of United Transport asking if we would be available for delivery on August 15th, specifically. Unfortunately, we were unable to accept since we would not be there at that time. We arrived in PA on August 17th and waited for our stuff on the 18th. At that point, I read my original estimate and realized they had up to 14 days to deliver, that date would have been Aug. 26th which came and went. I proceeded to call the company, looking for answers which were never given. I called 3 times, each time told they would call me back. I never received a single call. I was able to find Alicia's cell phone number which she had given to me in a voicemail, having been so adamant about getting my business that she called me on her day off, from her personal cell. I contacted her and was told she would find out where my stuff was and get back to me by Monday morning. That Monday I finally spoke to Leah, who directed me to the contract I signed on the pick up day, stating they had 21 business days. I found that to be very sneaky since I had already invested 25% by then and was never given that information verbally! Finally, on August 28, Ricky called to schedule me for delivery!! He said the driver had 24 hours to deliver. The next day we waited for our delivery.... No one ever showed. I emailed Leah again asking where our stuff was and was informed that what Ricky MEANT was that our belongings were put on a truck en route for delivery but that the driver would contact me when he was within 24 hours of delivering! So, another week later, I was still waiting for my entire house-full of stuff to arrive. I had emailed and called for days with no return phone calls, as usual... Finally another week later, I received a phone call from the driver saying they were 3 hours away, so in had to drop whatever I was doing to meet them (which was actually 5 hours later.) The driver was nice, the helper was quick. However, all the trash was left in my front yard, nothing was reassembled, as I was promised. And at the end the driver asked me for a tip!!!! Worst experience EVER!!!!!!!
