I called USA Relocation and requested a quote for a move from storage in Diamond Bar, California to my new residence in DeKalb Illinois. Based on an estimate of 2954 pounds at $0.55 plus packing several items I received a quote of $1839
On the day of the move, a man who identified himself as Tzahi called saying that he estimated my boxes in storage weighted 7000 pounds and not 2954 as we had originally calculated. I was not physically present at the location, he refused to weight the track and demanded that I trust him. Since most of my goods were already on the truck I reluctantly accepted. I found Tzahi’s new estimate surprising. My belongings had been moved into storage some 8 months prior and since almost nothing had been added the weight couldn't have miraculously doubled. The final cost of the move was $4400.
A week later two men arrived in a truck and delivered my items. They unpacked the truck in less than 90 minutes and asked my husband to sign that he had accepted the delivery. Neither he nor I counted the items received. We were not told how they were marked. It was only the next day that we discovered we were missing our home theater system. Only after we finished unpacking we figured out that overall eight boxes were missing.
From the moment I informed USA Relocation that 8 boxes were missing I began chasing after them. They claimed to have found my missing boxes, for over a month promised to deliver them. Twice they even had me wait at home for delivery, and only a 45 days later a certain Barry told me that I will never see my missing items.
Now I am told by the company that handles their claims that I deserve nothing because USA Relocation does not admit they had lost anything. The recordings and emails I have produced to prove they had admitted to losing my property "cannot be verified."
AVOID USA RELOCATION LIKE THE PLAGUE
