I had a BINDING QUOTE of $1350 based on my inventoried list of items. I even requested that an estimator be sent over so we'd all be in agreement of my items, they declined. I even MEASURED all non-boxable items so they had the dimensions/approximate size of my items. And we're talking items in a 750 square foot apartment. AFTER all my items were on the truck they said I had a LOT more than what I wrote down, and doubled the price! After arguing with "John" and telling him that he gave me a BINDING QUOTE, he lowered his doubled price. I reluctantly agreed because they had my items already on the truck. I relocated from Los Angeles to Traverse City, Michigan, and they had this address two months before my scheduled move. They quoted that my possessions would arrive on 10/1/09. I called on 9/30/09 to see where they were, and my items hadn't even LEFT Los Angeles yet!! "John" said that the driver map-quested the address and didn't "feel" like driving so far north!! And, that we didn't have a large enough load so not many drivers would be interested in driving it. Apparently it was heavy enough to double charge, but not large enough to drive it. NOW, they are NOT answering their phones NOR returning any messages that I leave asking about my possessions. Is this because they have stolen it??? Have they lost it?? I have no clue where my possessions are. I have filed formal complaints with the BBB, Dept. of Transportation, and the Public Utilities Commission. I encourage all those who have dealt with these people to do the same if you have had trouble!!! They cannot do business this way and treat people in this manner.
