After much discussion and being clear with "Joe" I was told the amount of my move to VA would be recalculated if I stayed in Texas, because there were many circumstances affecting when and if I would move. The movers arrived two days late, depending on who you talk to. The person who showed up delayed me 3 times during the day and finally showed up at 1PM for and 8-10AM time slot. He could barely understand instructions, much less speak clearly. He put me on the phone with their office because he wanted to charge me an additional fee for distance from elevator. When I spoke to the office I tried to clarify my local rate if I stayed in HOU/Texas. I was told there would be no adjustment. That I was being charged the same for the move...contradicting Joe. After numerous phone calls and realizing they wanted an additional pmt on the total, another 800 to the 608 I had already deposited, I told them to go away.
They told me they would not return my deposit. Because the entire situation was fraudulent and they told me various stories on my rate, and the people who showed up for terribly unprofessional and unprepared and late, I do believe I deserve my deposit returned. I would however entertain a $50 trip charge deduction.
I read the reviews online before contacting them, and I would warm customers to be very wary of these movers.
