I chose this company after receiving a great quote from them. They directed me to look at their website where they advertised using only experienced, professional movers. They seemed very up front, even providing their DOT and Insurance info. The site said they were trying to get their BBB status set up. Upon research, I found they were a new company, the price seemed to be a way to get themselves off the ground. So I contacted them.
My rep suggested that I could come in cheaper if I went with the hourly rate. I asked how much it would be to add an additional mover as I had a piano and it would make the move easier and smoother. He told me $20 more per hour. I decided to go that route and told him to book the move. He sent me a revised quote with the new hourly rate of $85/hour for 3 guys, truck, moving blankets, assembly and disassembly included, etc. the quote said I would be contacted a week before to verify. Everything seemed on the up and up.
4 days before my move I realized I had not heard from them, so I sent my rep and email. He responded with an email saying that with my email my move was now booked?! Wait, it wasn't before? Ok, I figured, no big deal, everything was set up so we were fine. The day of, I get a call at 7 am, I had booked for 8-10 arrival, to say they were on their way. Wow, early. They arrived at 7:30 am. We started the paperwork and the info stated that payment was due BEFORE everything was finished. Ok. They started quickly, and they took apart the bed without asking. I didn't have anything to put the hardware in, neither did they, so my husband put it all in his pocket. About that time I realize that the one guy is being told how to move things, what order to put things on the dolly, etc. Experienced only? This was a very obvious training session. Everything the guy tried to do, the others stopped him and made him do it different.
As they got about 30 minutes in, I said something about the piano. The guys were surprised. They said no one had said anything about a piano. I stated that it was on my inventory I gave the rep. They proceeded to complain about the piano, making comments about how they usually charge extra for that. I told them the quote I received did not state that and repeated that I put the piano on my inventory. After 2 hours they were down to the piano and told my husband they couldn't do it without his help and that if he couldn't help they wouldn't be able to move it without damaging it. He eventually gave in and helped them get it down the stairs. They did not bring any equipment up to move it.
Upon arrival, they again insisted on his help with the piano, this time they at least had a dolly. When they brought the bed back in, my husband asked when they were going to put it back together and the response was, " oh you want us to do it?" Well yes, we didn't even want it taken apart to begin with. That was when the "I hate Ikea Furniture" complaints began, full well knowing that was what we had. When the brought my washer and Dryer in, they damaged my floor and told me to lie to the office of my apartment and say it was like that before they arrived, glued the linoleum back down. Then they handed me a survey to fill out and the lead guy tells me, laughing the whole time, it doesn't matter what I put down, he is the one who reads all of them. Well, no point it saying anything there. I paid and they left.
The next day I went to wash some laundry and I realized that my washer is hooked up wrong and my cold setting is pulling boiling hot water in. My husband is laying down, hurting too much to help me unpack. When we left later to get some lunch, he had to stop every few steps.
When I contacted the company about my issues, I was told I never told them about the piano, despite me having the inventory list on their letterhead. I was told that the mover were fired and the managers knew what happened. Then they blamed the inventory issue on a systems mistake. I waited to hear from management. After several days and a few emails later, I was told that they never asked for help, my husband offered to help and since they didn't charge me extra for the piano, they didn't feel they should do anything. As far as they were concerned, they were short payment so everything was even.
Run from this company. Run hard and fast. They take your money and lie about their services.
