We were quoted $1436 to move from our center city apt in Philadelphia to an apartment in Jacksonville, FL. When receiving the quote online, I specifically asked the person if that quote would change for some additional fees once the movers arrived. I was assured the only way it would change is if my stuff takes up more than 15 ft on the truck. Well our stuff did not take more than the 15 foot truck. However, when the mover arrived, they originally tried to tell us our move was 3500. We should be charged per box he moves and he also said we owe an additional 750 "long carry move." Oh, this is after he was supposed to arrive between 9-10 AM and did not arrive until after 4:30 PM. This would ordinarily not be a huge deal, but in a city apartment you must reserve the loading dock time to load your stuff. So, we had to have him start packing the truck, then move it to let someone else in who had reserved it in the time slot then move it back. Also, when the other people were using the loading dock, the mover just stood there and did nothing for one hour when he could have finished wrapping our furniture up stairs. Worst experience ever. BUT it gets better. They picked up our stuff on June 26 and said it will be delivered July 3. Now in Jacksonville, it is July 11th and nothing. Call almost daily and the date just keeps getting pushed back and back. However, I hope we will not have to pay even more additional fees when/if they arrive. Per last call we will get our stuff Late July 12. It is always nice when you move for a job and do not get your stuff before you start your new job when you were off two weeks. Lovely. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
