Swift gave me a quote of $655 based on cubic feet. Once the truck was packed, the driver jacked up the price to $1504 based on looking at how much space the items occupied. I had to pay the higher price in order to get my stuff because the driver refused to measure anything. I had nothing to hide. All I ask was that he prove to me that I had more stuff than I told them. He claimed I had an additional 350 cubic feet but had no basis for the higher claim. I have been trying to get a hold of management or the owner of the company for a month and a half now but they are not returning my calls. One sales person I spoke to told me to keep calling. So I keep calling and all I get is sales people who can't do anything. Swift's action is considered lowballing and is illegal. I took measurements myself of all the boxes and furniture and I gave them an accurate listing and I know that I did not bring along anything that they weren't aware of.
Upon disassembling my bedroom furniture, a clock on the wall was broken. Instead of coming clean, it was hidden in the back of a closet. When the driver was informed, he said he didn't know anything about it and just dismissed it. He didn't even ask the other movers. And this person is the one who issued me a new higher quote because the truck was packed to the best of his ability. After all my furniture was unloaded, I noticed that were another piece of furniture on the truck that was not mine. So I paid to transport someone else's stuff which took up space as well.
Swift's lack of action in trying to resolve this issue just goes to show that this company is a cheat and scams their customers. All I ask is for a phone call but they couldn't even do that. Don't not be fooled by the low price because you pay for it in the end. They have the worse customer service. Stay away from them at all costs.
