I used Swift to do an interstate move. They quote me a price based on cubic feet and once the truck was packed with all my belongings, the driver increased the price by 130%. I took careful measurements and I informed Swift exactly what I was bringing with me. Upon arrival at the destination, the driver refused to take anything off the truck until I paid him the higher costs in cash and in full. I now realize that this practice of lowballing is common in the moving industry and illegal.
I asked the driver to measure the items to prove to me that I had more stuff than I told them but he refused. I had nothing to hide but apparently he did. I was charged for an additional 350 cubic feet for stuff that I didn't have.
I have been calling the company for 1 1/2 months now and no one in management has yet to return my call. I was told one day last month that the owner of the company would call me to discuss the issue but that was 3 weeks ago and that never happened.
I am getting nowhere with this company. I would highly recommend that anyone searching for a moving company stay away Swift. The customer service here is horrible. They are a bunch of cheats and scammers.
