My wife and I used this local mover for local move so we could get an in-home estimate prior to moving. Our in-home estimate was 4-6 hours for the total move. The day of the move, 2 employees, different from he who provided the estimate, came to move our belongings and said it would take at least 10 hours. 11 HOURS into the move WITH MY WIFE AND I BOTH HELPING, we just told the movers we had to stop; we couldn't afford any more. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (part of the D.O.T.) regulations state that a "reasonably accurate" estimate be provided before the move. They also state that no more than 110% of the agreed upon estimate can be demanded by the moving company before 30 days. Had my wife and I not helped, this may have taken an entire day. With us helping and not even finishing the job (which I had to do the following 2 days), we spent OVER DOUBLE THE TIME--AND MONEY!! The owner of the company did not uphold his partner's decision to split the difference in half, even serving us with a court order because we had not paid the remainder-it had not been 30 days! We were so frustrated and tired of the situation, I went to pay the remainder in person. He did not have the even come out of his office, and again went back on HIS PERSONAL WORD, to waive the filing fee for the court order. We ended up paying 119% of the estimated price ($605) on the day of the move to uphold our end of the bargain, then another $580 in additional moving costs and filing fee! That's $1185 (215% THE ESTIMATED COST!!)In lieu of going through the headache of fighting Sure Load Movers in court, my wife and I just told them we would write a review. Here it is: DON'T USE SURE LOAD MOVING!!!!
