We initially contacted Starcity Moving based on a recommendation from friends of ours who had used the company for their move in New Jersey a few weeks earlier. Beginning with my initial inquiry over email to all subsequent of interactions, the representatives from Starcity were professional, customer friendly and provided me with useful feedback. Based on a handful of the usual questions I quickly received an estimate that was easy to understand and documentation to help explain nuances of how the move would work. A few days before the move, Rachel reached out to me to verify that everything was still on target, which I appreciated.
On the day of the move the team (Roberto, Vince, Ruffino, and a fourth team member whose name I've forgotten) showed up right on time and ready to get started. We did most of our own packing and preparation, but Starcity's rates included disassembly and reassembly of all furniture so we didn't have to worry about that. With little oversight the team did a careful and efficient job of this work, protecting other furniture pieces and handling everything with great care.
After a quick lunch the guys were ready to tackle the other end of the move. Ours was a worst-case scenario in that we had 4+ flights of stairs on each end, but I didn't notice any decrease in vigor and enthusiasm in the second half of the day. We ran into one snag with the California king mattress and the new stairwell, but after warning me about the potential for damage, all four guys worked together to get the mattress to the third floor master bedroom without damaging either it or the house. Unbelievable!
I can't recommend Starcity enough. This is the first time we've used a moving company, but as long as we're in New Jersey (or NY tri-state) I can't imagine we'd look anywhere else for moving services than Starcity. The team we worked with said that they work together consistently so consider requesting them by name.
