This was the worst experience with movers I've ever encountered. First we were told the movers would be at the apartment between 8AM-9AM, and then the day before we were told 9AM-10AM XXXthey arrived at 10:30AM. We originally asked for two people because we didn't have a lot of stuff at all, and they bullied us into three, and the third person just stayed in the truck the entire time. We were told the television would need to be boxed, and we said that wasn't necessary, and they told us they wouldn't move it any other way. As they were moving stuff out we noticed they were using an exorbitant amount of tape XXXserious overkill. After everything was in the truck they we were told the final cost was over $1400, and the original estimate was $800. They used almost $500 of packing material, which we said wasn't necessary, and just plain outrageous. They shrink wrapped our mattress, and then charged us $25 for a mattress bag, and there's an option for shrink wrap per feet. They put a wardrobe box around our television stand, which again was unnecessary, and then charged us $50 for a small crate. They used 16 rolls of tape XXXthey would just start a roll and walk around a dress over-and-over until the tape for finished XXXthat totaled $80. They finally agreed to knock two boxes off the final cost, and that lessened the price by $60 XXXTWO BOXES! As if it couldn't get any worse XXXit took them 5 hours to get from Manchester, CT to Denville, NJ. It took us 2 hours, and we left 30 minutes after they did XXXthis will completely bogus. Just a horrible, horrible experience XXXthey make you pay cash XXXno check, no credit card, and this is clearly because they're running a total scam. Avoid XXXseriously.
