I was quoted an estimate of $535 dollars for my move to a storage facility. They arrived 20 minutes late, but were quick and efficient in packing up my apartment. When they got inside, they told me they needed to pack some of my furniture differently because of the glass doors. The contract does state that they cannot pack fragile items that are not protected. There is nothing that details cost of this anywhere. Never ever was this mentioned in the inventory I submittted or when I reviewed the inventory with Pat over the phone. When they asked how I was paying during the packing up, I told them credit card and they informed me of a 5% fee for using the card. The contract reads, "credit card payments will be subject to a 5% processing fee if move unpaid". What does this mean? In any case, I did not have enough cash on hand to cover the extra costs to pack the 3 pieces with glass, so I had to charge. I drove ahead of them to the storage facility after they assured me they knew where they were going. Needless to say, they passed my right by and took another 30 minutes to get back. They told me they stopped for some drinks, but not to worry, they were still in the quote time since I had to guarantee the quote time of 5 hours. They unloaded quickly and were done with the entire move, start to finish in 4 hours. After the processing fee and extras cost to wrap the glass pieces, my $535 moved cost me $746. When I expressed my concern about this to the driver and the large difference in prices, he was very matter of fact. I phoned Pat the following day (tues, 8/20) to ask for an itemize bill since one was not available the day of the mover. He said he would email it right away. I phoned again on Wed(8/21) to ask again. No receipt. I emailed on Thursday (8/22) asking again. I received a phone call Thursday afternoon from Alex stating they were very busy, but would get to it right away; did not receive. I called again that evening, spoke to Jose or Joe, asked him to send it and he said he would. Again, did not receive an itemized bill. I emailed a final time on Friday (8/23)and still, over 1 month later, have NOT received a final bill. They are sly and get overs. Stay away. The great quote they give is NOT what you will pay.
