I will give them thisXXXthe drivers showed up when they said they would. Did not have a problem with the workersXXXthey were courteous and respectful. My biggest problem was in communication and the condition of my belongings. We were in the unfortunate position of having to move without a new address. We left our stuff in their hands for about a month while we drove across country and found a place to live. I was told to contact them ASAPXXXgive them 2 weeks notice to get our things to us. As soon as we had arranged for a move-in date, I called Summit 2 weeks before we could move inXXXand was told that they would put us on the schedule to deliver our belongings AFTER our move-in date, with a 30 day window!! For 2 weeks, we had no idea when we would see our belongings. I would have appreciated knowing their delivery policy up front. Luckily, they did show up one week after our move-in date.
ProblemXXXour boxes, rubbermaid totes, bed frames, bicycles, bookshelvesXXXyou name it, it was smashed up. Only the sturdiest boxes survived unscathed. THey somehow managed to chip the edges of our dining table ever after they wrapped it with blankets!! One of our loveseats was stained with axle grease. Not only did they charge us more than their estimate, we have had to replace some of our belongings. After waiting almost 3 months, we were finally given a settlement that did not include the table and sofa, and dryerXXXall of which they wrapped and managed to damage. They only offered us payment for small items that did not weigh very much so as to avoid paying on the insurance.
Needless to say, I will not ever recommend Summit Van Lines to anyone ever.
