Would NOT recommend..spend a few extra hundred dollars, well worth it.

This company was absolutely terrible and had awful customer service. The moving truck arrived the correct day (but about 3 hours behind schedule) to pickup my belongings. The movers were very nice and did a great job packing up and padding my items into the moving truck. From here I was advised that the truck would be put into a warehouse in the destination state and then from the warehouse items would be put on a local truck for delivery. I SHOULD have received a phone call 24 hours prior to delivery (which should have been Friday since I selected Saturday delivery and the company told me this would be when I should expect my items). So..Friday comes around and I never heard anything..after my own attempts to reach the company sales rep. that had convinced me to sign on (what a mistake), left a voicemail and email (never received a response) I had to call about 5 different times in order to get someone on the phone. I spoke to a Customer Service rep. who advised that my items wouldn't be delivered until after the weekend in view of the fact that the dispatcher hadn't yet contacted me. I hung up called someone in billing to verify that they'd received my payment and they stated that the CSR was incorrect and that I should get my items that date I requested. I then called back the customer service rep. and got a hold of the same female (Julie I believe) who was EXTREMELY RUDE. She recognized my voice and said "Mam', it doesn't matter how many times you call back the outcome is going to be the same." Talk about great customer service..
Frustrated I then had to sleep with no furniture for 4 nights in view of this company's incompetence and terrible communication skills. When I called on Friday I got multiple different answers on when my items would be delivered. Tuesday finally rolls around and I got a call from the driver that they would be delivering my items...but, when they arrived they stated they couldn't unload the truck in view of the fact that the system didn't show my last payment having been received. I then contacted billing (who didn't answer) and come to find out that my payment (which was made the week prior) hadn't been put in the system by the incompetent employee. I had to call my bank, void this transaction and then pay the drivers in cash in order for them to unload the truck since ofcourse the billing lady (apparently theres only 1 employee) didn't answer after calls and emails.
Overall, terrible experience. Received my items (many of which were damaged and look like they'd been thrown around (literally)) and had boxes missing (that I'm still trying to locate)... Customer service was awful and my original quote went up +$500 since I was charged per square foot away from the truck to the elevator and was charged for packing materials. Would not recommend to anyone..spend more on a better more reputable quality company. Proud American Vanlines is awful..not sure how they're in business
