Now...
I honestly do not know where to begin and not make this a 1000 word complaint. I have never in my life been angered enough to actually spend time writing a review on a company. The basics:
-Was ASSURED by Sam (booked my move) that pickup was Sunday (happened) and drop off was the following day, Monday at 6pm. Mover failed to show up, failed to contact, left me completely in the dark all while I'm trying to focus on starting my new job
-Worst possible communication with Proud American moving XXXmultiple phone calls were made, e-mails were sent and voicemails were left, NONE of which were replied to
-Was finally contacted by driver, and was told the soonest my belongings would be delivered was Thursday (so, four days late - leaving me with no bed, couch, anything to sleep on and thus hotel costs)
-Cost was roughly $350 MORE than my intial "binding" quote (which may seem minor but my move was only from NJ to CT)
-Was told upon booking move that I would pay via credit card when belongings were delivered - then contacted the day of my move (merely TWO hours before, while I'm still at work) that I can only pay via money order or cash. So now I'm left to either round up roughly $1150 in cash or go 20 minutes out of my way and leave work early to get to the bank for a money order before they close
-When movers arrived and I filled out the money order to them, they informed me they could only take POSTAL money orders. In short, now I have a $1150 money order ALREADY MADE OUT to the movey company and no access to the needed payment--no big deal right?!
-All throughout this process I sent e-mails to Sam kindly asking her to return my calls/e-mail because I had a lot of questions regarding my move. She ignored every one of them (which is odd considering when she booked my move she was very prompt with e-mail responses) and when I called customer service and provided my quote ID they all had some different excuse as to why I couldn't be put through to Sam. I also had someone close to me e-mail her faking interest in a move, and she got back to that person almost immediately.
All in all, I was lied to, misled and COMPLETELY jerked around. The little "customer service" I received was all incredibly rude on top of the rest of the mess. Relocation is stressful enough (especially in the midst of a new job) and this horrible, pathetic company provided me with more of a headache than I could have possibly imagined. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you want your move to be a living hell. And that's modest.
