Once the company load the stuff on the truck they charge more claiming the weight and volume is more than what the customers estimate. They insist on delivering in 18 wheel truck, which is impossible to bring close to the building at delivery. They have to park away (if they can park at all). They insist on charging the customer for the extra distance from the truck to your house or apartment. And, if they get a ticket they force it on you. And if you don't pay the ticket right away, they stop unloading.
The company hires a cheap and unreliable trucking company to deliver. At delivery, they don't let you see the contents on the truck unless you first pay them the balance that's due. After I paid the balance, they opened the door of the truck. More than half my possessions were completely crushed and destroyed. When I complained, they asked me to file an insurance claim. They carry almost no insurance. The insurance company has made it very difficult to get any compensation. You have to provide many pictures of the damaged items. Even then, the most that the insurance company will give you is 60cents per pound, regardless of the value of your items.
The people at the company are deceptive. DO NOT do business with them. They did not deliver 8 boxes - they simply stole them. They will take your money and some of your valuable boxes and ask you to file a claim. They are unscrupulous.
Look for a reliable company. DO NOT pay a deposit for booking the pickup. Read the contracts before engaging the moving company. Speak with the insurance company and ask them in detail how you will be compensated for damage or loss, before giving your business to a moving company.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT give your business to Priority Van Lines. The company has changed its name recently. It does not take responsibility.
