Our experience with Platinum Van Lines was horrible at best. The customer service office explained to us that a smaller truck would come to pick up our belongings. They showed up with a huge semi (unnecessary for a tiny condo). The driver refused to park by the front door even after we asked him to and we ended up getting charged for a long carry. The movers showed up short handed and were not aware they needed to do the "full packing" service we had paid for. The driver also was too busy booking other jobs and did not help with the packing. The driver asked to borrow tools to disassemble furniture. He never returned to the tools after we asked for them to be returned. He claimed they got packed with our belongings. We didn't find them after we unpacked.
The delivery came early. They called us only two hours prior to arriving. The company claims to give you at least a 12 hour notice. The truck also left oil stains on our new driveway. We also found items damaged and broken. We went through the claim process and they denied all the "expensive" claims. We triple checked our claim before submitting it and they still said our photos were not "sufficient" proof of damage.
Do not use Platinum Van Lines. We feel taken advantage of and do not want others to go through what we have.
