When we first began chatting with Miles on our inventory and dates, we were pretty accurate about some big items (riding lawn mower, portable fireplace) and some delicate items (grandfather clock, televisions) and ordered some packing materials. None of these items that incurred service charges ever made it on the truck. In fact, when the crew finally arrived, late, the truck they brought was half full. And it was at night so the movers couldn't see well walking across the lawn of a historic landmark home. When they returned the next morning, they wouldn't take our directions not to use the restroom where the cats were locked and kept letting them out. We found out later, as we located various pieces and parts of jewelry, they were removing items from our bedroom and smashing them in the restroom as we chased the cats around the neighborhood. At the new house when they finally arrived, they helped themselves to all the items we moved ourselves (mostly lady underthings and computer gear) and even walked off with our MagLiner hand truck. Because they arrived so late (11 p.m.) they had to move in the dark and kept dropping boxes. There was a pile of crystal all over the driveway and they traipsed spices all over the carpet as they smashed each and every spice rack. You can't imagine the state of our furniture. I protested how they didn't place padding between the dressed and the headboards (we ordered packing materials and blankets) and all the handles on our antique dressers were smashed and the headboard was in pieces. Sorry, Grandma. They knocked into every single light fixture in the new house, breaking more glass. I see that they were trying to get us out of the room to remove more of our belongings. The police took action and recovered some jewelry from eBay, but the movers were arrested for stealing from Platinum itself and deported out of the U.S.
