There was a slight mix-up finding my place, but they didn't charge me.
When the dudes rolled up to my old spot, they were __retarded__ fast. paperwork--easy. sign here, here and here. Days ago i had received a PDF in my e-mail about what i was signing, and the phone staff are helpful with questions.
So my old spot had a service elevator. good news for the movers, I'm sure! the reason I didn't move myself u-haul style was because the new place doesn't have an elevator at all, and I'm on the 2nd floor. I spent the majority of last week moving boxes in my Toyota to minimize the amount of work the movers had to do (time is money, you know what I mean), and carrying just __boxes__ up the 36 steps to my new house was grueling. Also, I had a bad cold, so I was sweating and coughing like a disgusting pig.
I can't even imagine moving my furniture. so I figured, okay, great, these guys will lag-a*s on purpose to make some extra scratch, especially up those death wish stairs that made me pant and sweat.
uhh--NO. I stood outside of the new spot (without the elevator) with my jaw dropped most of the time. These dudes are FAST. I bought U-Haul boxes and did my own packing. one of the dudes took like 2 large boxes (4.5 cubic feet) and a medium box (3 cubic feet), stacked them up, grabbed the bottom one, and *ran* up the stairs with all 3 boxes. I almost sh*t myself. These guys are like mega men contortionists. I have this heavy chest of drawers that I would rather sunset-scavenger than move myself, and one of the dudes just hoisted it on his back and went up the stairs. And when I say 'went up' I mean he basically hauled a*s up there.
These guys do not f*ck around. They haul a*s. They moved about 8 pieces of furniture (some quite large, like a queen sized bed, box spring, frame, and HUGE headboard), and about 9 relatively heavy boxes in about 2 hours total. The driving time was minimal, but still... I was expecting workers who would drag-a*s to make a few extra bucks, but instead I got super-men who hauled a*s to save my money. And I really appreciated that.
I tipped them $35. Tip these guys. They are like Olympic athletes the way that they move your sh*t around. swiveling in and out of doors with sh*t that you struggled to get in like it's no big deal, racing up stairs... wrapping your furniture in some sort of industrial cellophane saran wrap sh*t so that it doesn't get hurt (and they wrap it up real nice in about 5 seconds)... seriously, I was so jazzed by just watching them I called my mother and told her all about the crazy sh*t they did to move my stuff fast.
Bottom line: use this company. Tip their drivers. They're courteous--they even seem to enjoy the company of each other. They're fast. They're no-nonsense.
If you move with anyone else you're a tool.
Will use again.
