I got a quote from a mover ontimemovers.com for a move. They asked me for my credit card info so they could complete a credit card authorization form and send it to me for my authorization. Like an idiot, I gave it to them. They went ahead and charged my card $1000 for a move that I never scheduled with them. Now I"m fighting to get my $$$ back. They told me my card would not be charged until I authorized the form, sent it back and scheduled a move date which I never did. These folks after I researched them did not have a dot # or were not members of any moving organization which is why I went with a local mover. Now I'm fighting for a refund for charges I never authorized. They are indicating that because I gave them my credit card # to complete the form, I scheduled the move and the deposit is non-refundable when on the phone the guy told me 20 times that no charges would be placed until the form was completed and reutrned and the move was completed. This is a scam and needs to be stopped. After the fact, they reference terms and conditions of their website that show a deposit is required (not what they tell you on the phone) and they accept no refunds. They trick you into providing info to complete a form that requires your signature to authorize and then charge your credit card.
