Ever heard the saying..."A Hard Head, makes a Soft ___?"
If so, I was hard-headed and lesson learned. If not, just remember to "Stop, Look, Listen (in this case, Read) 7 Learn!"
Against my better judgement and pressing for time, after researching for weeks, I decided to hire this "place!" Of course, they're very friendly in the beginning and provide you the most economical quote ever! That's the bait!
The movers arrived on time, and were friendly and professional. I tipped because I appreciated the extra care they took in packing & moving my items. Although I wrapped and packed my things myself. I even took pictures of every item to be moved to provide some sort of security in case... So like I said, I tipped because of the service, and not because they were waiting around for the tip, as if it's required.
The initial move was successful. Now the wait...
I received the call that my things were on the way, and they arrived within the time frame given. The drivers, although not as professional and friendly as the drivers who picked up my items did the job, and again, were tipped (although, this time, they shouldn't have been because things were missing & damaged! One of the delivery drivers even texted me to make sure I inform the company of my damages. Realistically, the damages could have happened after the shipment left my old location and before it arrived to my new location - so who can I really blame...the company!
Here's where it gets utterly ridiculous! Filing the claim...
Because a tote was missing, which had some very important (to me) documents in it and my furniture was damaged, I filed a claim, filed a police report and reported the issue to the BBB. Basically, the company is stating they can't find my missing tote, so all the paperwork in the tote, bills w/credit card info, genealogy records, my degrees, military records, medical records are gone! Might as well lost them in the fire, at least they wouldn't be in the hands of someone who could do harm to me financially and personally!
Word to the wise, and otherwise...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I can't tell you enough or overstate the seriousness of making the right decision about avoiding this place, I wish I would have!!!
I do not believe that Olympia has done their due-diligence in finding my missing tote (containing all my Veterans records, college degree & transcripts, financial, medical & personal documents). I am just astonished that this company would treat a hard-working, honest paying customer and Veteran like this?! I am sure if the company puts in a little effort, my tote could be found. I believe the company has just washed their hands of the issue and feels little to no remorse in the gravity of the issue. I guess that's what I get for trusting a company I thought was reputable?! After all, if I can't trust them to move a particular article/item in my home, why should I trust them to move anything!!!?
