ORION VAN LINES

They contract their moves so you never know who/what kind of service you will get. They made my move a living hell and I would not recommend them to anyone. After everything was said and done they wanted me to sign a customer service agreement saying that if they credited me $150 that I would not post negative reviews online. I didn't accept just so that I am free to share with everyone how horrible of a company I had to deal with.
Below is the same email I sent to their customer service:
Nicole,
I want to start off by saying that I have never been so upset with any
product or service I have ever purchased. What should have been a
stress free move turned into a horrible experience that I feel
obligated to share with moverreviews.com and possibly the Better
Business Bureau. I feel this way because of the unaccepted times the
movers were in home and I feel I paid for services that were not
provided.
My scheduled pickup time was 3:00-4:00pm, which I already thought was
pretty late in the day to begin a move. I was assured that it would
only take two hours or so to pack everything up and get it on the
truck. The movers did not even arrive to my home until 8:00pm and when
I requested that they come back in the morning, they acted like it
would be an inconvenience and would delay their shipment since the
needed to be in Ohio in the morning.
After they parked their truck and finally began the moving process
they were surprised to see that they were supposed to pack my
belongings. They were in no way prepared to pack everything. They had
no bubble wrap or newspaper, just moving blankets for my furniture.
This meant that they asked to use my own towels and clothes to protect
all of my dishes and other fragile items. None were individually
wrapped, just thrown in a box with some towels stuffed over them.
Luckily this only resulted in two broken plates. You can imagine how
upset I was to find my items not packed properly and given no care at
all. Even my TV that I paid extra for a box was wrapped only in
blankets.
Those were just my dishes, let’s talk about my clothing items. Of
course since they were not prepared, they must have ran out of boxes
because they took six of my nice suits I wear to work, along with all
of my dress shirts and, threw them on my comforter and rolled them up
in a ball! They then decided it was a good idea to use packing tape to
wrap directly on my comforter! They were very generous with the tape
and did I mention all of my nice ties were stuffed in there too? This
is completely unacceptable and I wish I would have never let these men
into my home. (I’ve attached a photo)
It was about 2am when I decided I had to get some sleep since I was
driving to my new home at 6am. Unlike them I need to rest before a
long drive. Of course I am now worried that they will be driving on 3
hours of sleep with all of my belonging in their truck. I was so
furious I told them I had to go to my friends and sleep and that they
should just finish up and let themselves out. Later one mover told me
they finished at 3:30am. This is an unacceptable time to be in my
home, actually 8:00pm was unacceptable but I needed it done. I came
back home in the morning around 6am only to find that they had left
everything under my kitchen sink, and two other cabinets completely
full. Luckily I had a couple trash bags left over and began to fill
them.
I haven’t posted my experience online yet, I thought I’d give you a
chance to respond. I know I've spoken to Kevin about their tardiness
and working into the night. Apparently he believes $150 off a $2,200
bill should make up for my night of stress and exhaustiveness but
that doesn't even scratch the surface of my frustration with $3,000
worth of suits, ties and shirts being thrown into a ball and many
cabinets left untouched. By the way, I never received that credit
Kevin promised. I chose you because of your reviews on
moverreviews.com and wonder how many moves you would lose if I posted
my experience and filed a complaint.
Sincerely,
Stuart
