Wow - don't know where to start. They won't talk to you, and they STOLE my stuff.
I had a very small cross country move and I packed everything myself, except for my new bed. Got a quote from Robert for $1190, saying that it was all inclusive and having told him all of the items I'd be moving. Robert talks you out of additional insurance and seems like a really sincere guy. He's NOT. Don't be fooled. I paid $350 as the initial payment.
My stuff was supposed to be picked up 7/12/12. Alex (beware this evil man) called me that day and said he couldn't make it that day. This was a huge problem because I had to start driving on 7/13/12 at 5am. I had to scramble to get a cousin of mine to supervise the pickup. They came much later than they said, and picked up everything.
They also said I had WAY more stuff than was in the estimate. Uhhh, what? I have only clothes and kitchen goods, and a king bed. Robert said that my estimate included 40 boxes, and they I was way under the minimum. Evil Alex now says that my quote is $2497.... $1307 in ADDITION TO MY ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. He also says that the mattress covers I bought weren't strong enough, so they charged me $48 for 2 covers (Robert said they were $15 each in an email), and $9 for tape. Ridiculous.
He also added a $150 origination fee, and 10% fuel charge (Robert said that was included in the $1190 estimate.
Since I was like 400 miles away and my cousin was flustered with this, I said to agree to it, and that I'd just talk to Robert and get it straitened out. unfortunately, Robert has NEVER RESPONDED TO ME SINCE MY BOXES GOT PACKED UP. I've send many emails and left several voicemails.
So now that my belongings were in their possession, I get this text from Alex:
"Hello and good morning summer. As your friend lensey told u today since your stuff came up more than your estimate so did your balance and according to your contract with us we need to get 70 % of the balance before we make the delivery and the remaining at the delivery . So we need to have 1550.00 deposited to our account tomorrow morning . At our wells Fargo bank.

So now I need to wire cash to this random guy's personal account. SOOOO shady. I tried to get a hold of Robert about this, and he doesn't take my calls or respond to emails anymore. I wait a few days hoping to hear back and finally figure out that they are holding my BELONGINGS HOSTAGE, so I wire the money... He harassed my everyday for the money, and was extremely rude and hostile.
Apparently they hadn't even moved it from Vegas when I paid on 7/17. When I asked when it would arrive, he said "within 30 days." WHAT??? My stuff was supposed to be delivered on 7/16, and now it might be a month? It's THEIR fault it was late, and they scammed me, now I have to wait???
Since I don't know when my stuff is coming, I have to buy some clothes, refill prescriptions (and my insurance had just expired) and buy more dog food.
My stuff finally came with a mover named Arturo (actually a nice guy) on Monday 8/6/12. They had an 18 wheeler (it wasn't supposed to on a big truck) and I had to pay $150 extra to have them walk it further because the truck was too big to fit in the loading area. Awesome...
My boxes were all beaten up, torn and crushed. My expensive mattress was dirty and had rips in the corners. And they didn't deliver my:
1. bed frame
2. new plasma TV (stolen - by Alex Sadeghi I'm guessing)
3. 2 painting boxes (stolen)
Since I didn't get he extra insurance, I will get paid $.60/lb, so like $50 for my $600 TV, and the other irreplaceable artwork is gone forever.
So now I'm trying to get a hold of someone to file a claim with Northern, they don't answer the phone or respond in anyway.
I am planning on filing a police report about the stolen items, and taking them to small claims regarding the bait-and-switch pricing and scamming.
I'm already screwed, but save yourself and find a legitimate company.
