SCAMMERS!!!!

Submitted this review about Northern American Van Lines
Review made Live: 4/15/2010 2:56:00 PM
Here is some important information on this "moving company" United States Moving Services AKA USMS a company who has been noted on here in the past for fraudulent practices is at it again. They are now operating using the name Northern American Vanlines www.northern-american.com At this site they give the licensing information of USDOT# 1949855 and MC#693183 These licenses link up to an Atlas Movers Inc. who does not currently have a license to operate. However upon a google search of the phone number 866-349-2160 it comes up to known floridian/texan scammer USMS (AKA Lion's Logistics). That website shows in a green bar at the bottom that Northern American is a DBA of Atlas Movers. Trying to grab customers from TWO major van lines. Also appears to have chosen the same name as a Wheaton agent in NY state. Someone should give them a heads' up. Look, they've already got their fake reviews written: http://northern-american.com/lotus_references.htm What's worse is that the owner, Assaf Dahan, is operating this company from Haifa, not the U.S. The business address of 4848 Lemmon Ave in Dallas is a UPS store. Why is Dallas the new seat of scammers? What do they have there that's drawing crooks from Fl and CA? The toll free phone number (866) 349-2160 at www.northern-american.com is the same phone number as USMS on the government website. Remember, Lions Logistics IS USMS. http://ai.volpe.dot.gov/hhg/SearchDetails.asp?ads=&id=30763998&id2=29585770&f=CNS%3D1%26CN%3D%26search%3D1%26DOT%3D1847068%26MC%3D%26Submit%3DSearch These people are crooks! Do NOT use them. They gave me a low ball estimate ($2770) and then when they picked up our stuff they charged over $8000 to deliver it. They said they needed two trucks and only the first one arrived. I had to hand over all my cash ($4000) to get half of our stuff. Then they refused to deliver the other half and put our stuff (including a refrigerator, washer/dryer, televisions, lamps, etc. etc., in storage. I called and emailed many times each day and no one ever returned my calls. I finally had to get the DOT to contact them to get back most of our stuff and a large amount of it is either broken or missing. And get this, their Claims line is DISCONNECTED! They have also used many other names: Lions Logistics, Hurricane Movers (Rami is the owner), Atlas Movers LLC, Hercules Movers and say they are centered in Dallas; however, they also appear to be in New Jersey. I am going to sue them to recover the money I have spent in this stressful move but PLEASE avoid them at all costs!!!!!!!!! Update: Northern American Van Lines is now using USDOT# 1847068 which is the SAME DOT# that USMS (United States Moving Services) gave to customers. Also the DOT# for Atlas Movers LLC also from Dallas, which is the old DOT # that this company used to use is now valid and active as of 4/2/2010. So watch out for this in the future, it's a clean slate for them.
