New Way Moving Services

I decided to go with New Way because I didn't have that much stuff, and they charged me the lowest rate by far. It seemed like a great deal, but WOW, it really reflected on the quality of services. They work with a number of different vendors and need a window of time with work with pick up and delivery XXXall that was fine with me. I needed a rush job done, so I understood that I needed to be flexible. Marc, the sales guy I spoke to, assured me they'd give me plenty of notice XXXmore than 24 hours, he said. But they gave me less than 18 hours notice before they wanted to pick up my stuff XXXand I hadn't even seen or signed a contract yet! When I said my stuff wasn't packed and I wouldn't release it, the GM called and said they wouldn't be able to send someone for another two weeks after that. I said it was unfortunate and that I'd have to go with a different company.
Marc called me the following morning and assured me he could get a team out there if I could be more flexible with my moving window. I said yes, and expanded it from their normal three-day window to a whole week. I clarified with him several times that the movers would definitely be there within that window. It was already later than I wanted, but I knew I was doing it so quickly I had to be flexible too. I had moved with just the basics of my stuff at the beginning of the window, waiting for them to call me to say they'd pick up and deliver the rest of it.
I called the second to last day of my window, telling Marc I still hadn't gotten a call from movers yet. He said someone would get back to me that day. No one ever did, so I sent a firm email saying that I hope someone would come on that last day, or that I hoped they had some sort of discounting policy for late services.
The GM called me the next morning and was nothing but rude. She said they wouldn't come until well after the window, and that there would be no discount. That they wouldn't do anything to compensate me because I "wouldn't release my stuff" that first time. I reminded her that I hadn't even signed a contract yet at that point, and thus never agreed to that window. And that when I spoke with Marc the second time, officially hiring their services, he assured me they could get movers out there within the allotted time. She said none of that mattered, and that it was wait another number of days with no compensation or just get my deposit refunded.
At this point, it seemed completely unrealistic to believe anything this company was telling me. If they came when they said they would, it would have been a supposed 3-5 days before they delivered (probably another week even). The price wasn't worth it to stick with this company.
Next time, I'll pay a little more and hire people who offer a legitimate service and aren't just trying to make a sale.
