My experience with this moving company was HORRIBLE! They are not the actual movers-they contract it out to someone else that they don't know anything about. NO matter what you say, it's not their fault. The actual moving company owner was so rude; cursing at me, calling me out my name, yelling and screaming. He had the nerve to say to a paying customer, "it's my damn business-I can do and charge what the fuck I want!" This was A Topps Moving and Storage LLC. I told this to Nationwide and they said it was nothing they could do, it's not their fault.
They changed the price about 4 times. The truck they sent could not even fit my furniture. They squeezed it in and damaged my brand new furniture. I told Nationwide when the truck got there that they picked up an extra pick-up and there was not enough room. They said"it's not their fault and the company has a right to schedule." They said they didn't know if they could get me someone else.
The original contact person sent me an e-mail saying he would be with me through EVERY step of the process. I spoke to him about 2 times and then it seems like I spoke to at least everyone in the company except HR. No one communicated with each other or nothing. In fact, their attitude was that of we have your money already, so we don't care what happens now.
It was a frustrating and horrible experince- my things were loaded and unloaded so many times before it got to me. They broke so many sentimental things and even lost a wardrobe box. The compensation left no room for negiatiating at all and was not even sufficient at all.
Please whatever you do- don't use them. You should consider doing the U-Haul thing. It might be time consuming, but better, way better, than using Nationwide or any of its contractors !!
