Mr. Butler worked hard to get me to sign on with this company and get all the signed paperwork and (of course) my credit card information. They only other contact was people trying to sell me extra insurance coverage.
By the scheduled day of pickup (12/28) I had not heard from the truck driver, so I called Nationwide to inquire about pickup schedule. They said they would get back to me. 2 hours later I called them again, and they said they did not have a carrier assigned to me!
They said I was the priority of their Dispatch Dept to get me a carrier and would call me soon. Once again, they never called me and so I had to call them later that day. Again, no carrier assigned to my move and the Customer Service person, Deeon Fogarty, was very rude to me.
I called the next morning (12/29) and they said they had called me earlier and left a message. Here I was at home waiting by my cell phone at the # they had to contact me at and they called my work # and left a message that they had no one to move me yet. So they were rude to me AGAIN because I called THEM asking about my pickup. I said I was concerned because it was almost New Years Eve and they could not get anyone to help me. Nationwide (Bill) said that if I canceled my contract with them before midnight 12/29 I would lose my deposit. But I had to be in Colorado to start my new job on monday 1/4 and this company was jerking me around.
On 12/30 I called and asked to cancel my contract and be refunded my deposit. They said they would but it would take 5-7 days (and it took them close to 9 days to refund me). I then had to rent a UHaul trailer, find friends during the holiday period who could help me load because I have a bum knee, and could only get 1/2 my stuff moved to CO in time to start my new job. 3 weeks later I had to rent another UHaul to get my remaining stuff moved from UT to CO. I ended up re-injuring my knee thru all this, which was the main reason I wanted to hire movers.
I wish I had researched Nationwide Relocation on this website for moving company reviews before I had gotten fast-talked into signing up with them by Bill Bettler. He had told me back in November that Dispatch had a carrier for me, so he lied. They were very adament about me getting to them quickly all the signed papers and my credit card info and copy of my picture ID but they sure didn't fulfill their end of the deal. STAY AWAY FROM NATIONWIDE RELOCATION SERVICES!
