I went online to search for a moving company to move all my furniture from Williamsburg, VA, to Columbus, OH. Nationwide Relocation contacted me by phone first, in response to my online application. They told me how good they are and how good their service rating is. I was too naive and believed that sort of talk. I believed they were a honest and reliable moving company, but the fact is, they were not.
They didn't see any of my beautiful furniture and they just used their stupid furniture listing to estimate the weight for shipment. They said that my total moving charge would be $7,024.59 and then asked me to pay a deposit $1,505.63. Then they asked me an additional deposit of $1,062.01. Then I found out the real carrier would be Federal Moving. This carrier charged me $7,083.78 at the destination. Without any payment, this carrier wouldn't unload any single piece of furniture at the destination. So my husband had to pay in full the amount they requested. When I asked Nationwide where my deposit went, they said there was some overweight and every payment made to them was correct.
1) Nationwide is a cheating company and lied to me all the time. They didn't do any moving, but only collected my money. They didn't pay even one penny of my deposit to the carrier. When I called them for my deposit money back, they told me they would credit $2,567.64 to my account, but they lied to me. They only credited me for $204.00 (still not received yet), not $2,567.64. 2) How does a moving company run without seeing what they need to move? They did not see any single piece furniture I had and just depended on their listing to estimate moving service. They had no idea what their customer needed to move and the actual weight. 3) They transfer all their mistakes to the customer - Since they didn't listen to what my description of the furniture, they transferred their estimated mistakes to the customer. I told them I have a very large (and very heavy) marble table and service table, and I have many very tall 9 foot shelves. They didn't care about any of these. My beautiful marble table was broken in two pieces and had to be thrown away; 4) They have very poor customer services - When they collected my money, they called me, left voice messages and sent emails many times, but when I had a question or problem, no one replied to me. 5) They provided really bad service - Nationwide Relocation is the worst company I have never known. They sent a carrier team that was not professional moving people, in two Enterprise rental trucks. This team didn't have professional training and didn't have any experience moving marble tables or a grand piano (except for one person on the team). They left scratches in my beautiful hardwood floor in my dinning room and hallway. Also, this team use dirty language to me and was very disrespectful to me.
I would like all this information to be added to the review so other honest and trusting people are not taken advantage of and their money stolen from them. They are a misleading and corrupt company.
