SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS

This is the worst moving experience I have ever had. To begin, the staff was less than helpful, provided an inaccurate estimate and then never explained any of their so called policies (which basically only protects them from all their lies and exaggerations). 1) Movers were late to pick up my items, I called several time to be put on hold and then hung up on repeatedly. 2) I was charged ridiculous costs for duct tape and boxes (which I could have purchased myself if the person I spoke with took the time to address any of these issues.) 3) I was told my belongings would arrive in DC 3 days later, "no problem!" 3 days later came and when I called the office I was put on hold for excessive amounts of time, hung up on, and told that I was being very rude for demanding I not be hung up on again. When I said that this company had incredibly poor customer service and that I would be reporting them to the BBB, I was told, "Fine, we're not even a member of the Better Business Bureau, go ahead." 4) Belongings arrived 7 days later, a total of 10 days. Upon calling to complain, I was told, "We have 2 weeks to deliver your belongings. It doesn't matter what someone said to you." So they arrive and the guy delivering tells me he can't even begin to unload anything until I pay the remaining balance in CASH. Nothing else can be accepted (i.e. checks, credit cards) and he refused to do anything until I paid. 5) Lastly, my belongings were damaged, to include two $500+ bicycles with deep scratches in the paint, motorcycle with obvious scratches, smashed shelves and a mattress and box spring that smell like gasoline. Yes, gasoline, which I was told to be MY fault by the company, not their responsibility at all to inform me of any moving procedures. So I make a claim for all of this and they offer me $50. Yes, a whole $50.00. Altogether, this company is the worst I have ever dealt with. It is clear that this company?s practices are disrespectful, unethical and dishonest. I would like to ensure that this company not get ANY future business. I'm also typically not a person that likes to complain, but this was unbelievable. Throughout it all, I received one illiterate apology. See below. Exact Response to my third BBB Complaint, complete with spelling errors and all: "If we haven't apologized in our previous response than we would like to take this oportunity to apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have suferred during her move. As stated by her, she has already filed a claim with our claims company. Once her claim analysis is complete a settlement email will be sent to her."
