I used the Chicago branch of this company but my complaints are from the NYC and Chi offices. I had always moved myself but decided to get movers for my last move. When looking for quotes from movers, Moishe's was the first to contact me. The person I spoke with argued with me about the time it would take. To make a long story short, I ended up going with Moishe's and they argreed to waive the truck/travel fee to keep my costs down. 3 men showed up and they took way too long to move me. There is no reason it should take 4 hours for 3 men to move 1 person from a small-medium 1 bedroom to a medium-large 1 bedroom, 2 miles away. They "lost" a lamp shade and light bulb for a floor lamp. Also, I had a small dolly that they used at my old place, they then left it in the lobby of my old apartment building and asked me if I could go back and get it. I agreed and naturally it was gone. I called to file a claim and was told they would mail me out a form immediately which I never got. Called the next week and it was emailed to me. I returned it a week later and another week goes by with no word from them (even though I left a vm and emailed asking for a confirmation that it was received) so I call again and they tell me that I need to sign a release. I said okay but I needed it that day as I was going on vacation for a week. Naturally I did not get it. I signed the release June 1, called June 20 to inquire about my check. I spoke with the customer service mgr who told me it would take 3-4 weeks but he did not bother to check into my claim. Another week goes by and I call back. I am now told that there was a "personnel issue" and my check had not been cut, it would be cut the beginning of the next week (7/1). As of 7/9 I still have not gotten my check. Spoke again with CSR mgr to find out it was not cut until 7/6. I have had a very, very, very poor customer service experience with this company. The movers were good except they took too long. I still will not be using the company again, there are too many moving companys out there.
