I used Mid Moving to make an interstate move. This company has two faces. One is the polished service representatives who tend to be female and come off as very friendly and accommodating. The other is the man running the show, Daniel, and his lackeys, who handle the business and the move like a group of black-market, off-the-book mafioso/con men. Buyer beware. What is advertised is not what you will get, and by the time you realize this they will have all of your furniture in the truck and be asking you to sign for a contract you did not initially agree upon. At that point they have you by the balls.
I was given and emailed a quoted price per cubic volume of boxes. The contract was confirmed multiple times. On the day of the move they loaded everything up and handed me the bill which was a higher price per cubic foot than the original contract. When I pointed this out they said my option was to pay or they would unload everything. I had already signed a lease at my destination and my current lease was ending so I had no choice. I tried getting in contact with Daniel, he would not respond to my calls and had one of his representatives, feigning shock that such a thing might happen, tell me she would talk with him and address it. That is the last I have heard from them. I ended up paying over a thousand dollars more than what had been agreed upon. Filing a complaint with the better business bureau shortly.
Other notes: They arrived much later than their stated time which created problems with reserving the elevator. Also, when they say they charge for each additional foot over 75 from the van to the building, they take out a rolling tape measure, start at the bumper of their van, include everything into the actual elevator, then out of the elevator and down the hallway to your door, i.e. you will invariably be paying for greater than 75 ft.
