Deceptive and destructive

I have used a number of moving companies. This is my first bad experience.
Mid failed at the two main tasks of a mover: providing goods on time and in good condition. First, the time: The sales rep promised delivery from Chicago to western PA in 0-4 days.
As other movers were promising delivery within 7 days, I went with Mid Moving based on shorter delivery time.
Only once my goods were packed and in the warehouse did their "customer service" inform me that the correct delivery estimate for this distance was 3-14 days. Final delivery was, in fact, 7 days. I was duped.
No one at Mid could explain why the rep quoted a shorter period other than my conclusion: the rep lied. I may flag the company to the Department of Transportation for this deception.
Second, the condition: I pack my own goods expecting some minor losses in an interstate move (this was not my first). But Mid Moving showed a careless and outrageous disregard for the packages in their care. Of my 3 wardrobe boxes, one arrived upside down XXXas did one
box marked "KITCHEN XXXFRAGILE" very prominently. Anyone who can read can see which end is up. Multiple other boxes marked "FRAGILE" were placed on the bottom of big piles in the truck. The delivery men admitted as much. A couch was damaged in such a way that
could only occur if it was dropped from several feet onto a hard surface. I will be filing a damage claim for some of the losses.
The so-called "customer service" does not answer the phone most of the time XXXand has no answering machine, just a ringing phone.
I will not go into a few other, more minor, problems and red flags.
The packers and delivery men on both ends, however, did a good job. But their hustle cannot possibly overcome the disaster of a service.
I will consider revising this review if I hear from the OWNER of the business. The staff never sent me a customer review form, perhaps because it would go over their heads. So here is my review: Do not use Mid Moving & Storage.
