First of all, I recommend any person who wants to move, just look at BBB accredited company, NEVER, please read NEVER use any other company that is not BB accredited. There are a LOT of scammer outthere. It happened to me because it was my first time I use a company to move. I started my journey looking for company in the internet ( FIRST mistake!!!). I came along with this "company" Metro Van lines". Their internet page looks like "professional" but it's just fake!!!. They sent me a quote for $1227.60 to pick up my goods and deliver them from Maryland to Michigan. The quote include taxes, fees, LABOR, door-door service, tools etc
INTERESTINGLY, I got a similar quote from a company with different name but around the same address, at the end-resulted to be the same company as Metro Van lines, they use other name like "Best Movers". I rejected Best Mover because they got an F on the BBB... I tthought I skipped that bad company but unfortunately, Metro Van lines resulted to be the same company with different "name". I called them up days before of the picking up to comfirm everything is OK. The day of the pick up, I called many times because they were late. They arrived in a rented budged truck, a Mediterranean guy (stealer) started charging me. The quote includes; disassembly, they did but you have to wrap them, so they charged me for the blanket, and also for the action of wrap. In addition, I purchased and 8 roll of heavy duty tape tp avoid they to charge me... of course, they did not charge me for the tape, but they charge me for using it... because of the ACTION of wrapping, isnt it LABOR which was included in the quote they gave me? I asked the guy why? he argued that it was a different charge and when I still arguing he just said he can leave. So accepted everything because I was in my last minute to move from my apartment, so I did not have more option, so ALWAYS have a backup company.
At the end, they charged me about everything, so I ended up paying $2,337.00, yes more than a double of what they quoted me. At the end, the man asked for tip!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you Kidding me?
We set up the delivery for september 10,2011, they pick up my goods on August 26,2011. I asked him how does it work, so he said, the day I decided to be delivered it will be delivered. So the delivery was a nightmare, I got my apartment in Michigan, on September 10th, I called the "company" to ask them about the delivery. They always has an excuse such as: " we will call you when we get info", " the guy in charge of your stuff is not at his office now", " the deliver day means from that day I have to count 30 days to get my goods deliver". After many calls, I told the I call the police and accuse them. At the end, they delivered my stuff 31 days later, also they arrived late. My goods did not suffer of any big damage but the moving experience was a complete nightmare. I do not recommend that company NEVER, they OVERcharge you even for breath... please run away these freaking stealer!!! JUST use companies that are BBB accredited.
