Don't use Metro Van Lines. Just don't do it.
They pulled the ole bait 'n switch on me, and the actual cost ended up being about $400 more than they had quoted me. I could see $100 more... but $400? Come on now. The customer service is terrible, too. They won't help you at all, with anything except to sell you on the move. After that, you're on your own.
The movers were sort of nice guys, I guess, but they were really slow and complained a lot. It took five hours to move one bedroom XXXno living room furniture. They got in a fight with the manager from my old building, and ended up almost getting the cops called on them.
In addition to that, they lost one of my large items. It was only a two mile move, and they managed to lose something. Sue from customer service told me that I was lying, and that the item either does not exist, or I am hiding it in my apartment. I said neither was the case. I just wanted to retrace the movers' steps so I could drive around and find the item in case it's at my old building or it fell out of the truck. Sue started literally screaming at me, and then hung up. I am not sure why she took my complaint so personally. When I tried to call the company back, Sue kept picking up the phone and hanging it up right away without saying anything.
I hate moving, but SERIOUSLY... I would rather come help you move FOR FREE than to see anyone else use this company.
