Do not believe the positive reviews you are reading on here. They are obviously written by affiliates of the company, as they are all written in the same style. Metro Van Lines is run by crooks. That's why they had to take the BBB logo off their website. There are probably hundreds of complaints against this company.
Here is my story:
They pulled the ole bait 'n switch on me, and the actual cost ended up being about $400 more than they had quoted me. I could see $100 more... but $400? Come on now. The customer service is terrible, too. They won't help you at all, with anything except to sell you on the move. After that, you're on your own.
The movers were sort of nice guys, I guess, but they were really slow and complained a lot. It took five hours to move one bedroom XXXno living room furniture. They got in a fight with the manager from my old building, and ended up almost getting the cops called on them.
In addition to that, they lost one of my large items. It was only a two mile move, and they managed to lose something. According to customer service, it must have just disappeared into thin air. What a mystery! Who knew that a moving company could also do magic tricks?
I hate moving, but SERIOUSLY... I would rather come help you move FOR FREE than to see anyone else use this company.
They go by several other names, such as "Personal Touch" and "Best Time."
